The Nutridose system delivers a measured dose of nutrient to the water and has fail safe shut down systems if the system overdoses, safety has been improved greatly. The introduction of real time telemetry has also delivered a system that can be constantly monitored and will advise the listening stations if an alarm occurs. However, mechanical failures are still possible and in some cases, human error in mixing or inadequate mixing has led to toxicity. To solve these problems and improve safety even more, we have developed the Urea Concentration Monitor as an integral part of the Nutridose system. The Urea Concentration Monitor measures the concentration of a urea marker in the drinking water at every injection. If the monitor detects that the concentration of urea has increased above the preset limits for any reason whatsoever, the monitor will close the unit down and isolate the system and will activate telemetry devices if appropriate.
